A show simply for the LOVE of art.

Date: April 30th, 2022 @ 7:30pm

Location: The Rose Theater, Westminster, CA

Friends in Dance is a platform for Performing Artists to come together, create, express, perform, inspire and share their ART in front of a live audience without the pressures of competition or employment expectations. A show simply for the love of our Art. Friends In Dance is also a celebration honoring the Mentors who encouraged us to become who we are. And in turn, we hope the Art we present on our stage will further inspire the Artists of tomorrow.

CELEBRATE
SHARE
INSPIRE
TRANSFORM

We behind Friend’s in Dance believe that art is meant to be diverse, celebrated, and most importantly, shared. Furthermore, art is intended to reach, inspire and transform the world.

We also believe that those who invest their passion into creating art should have access to a supportive peer community and platforms to share their work without the boundaries of outside expectations.

HOW IT WORKS

The basic premise of our project is a live show where artists come together to share and celebrate their work. The show will be held Saturday, April 30th 2022 at THE ROSE THEATRE in Westminster, CA. There aren’t any rules or boundaries held by employment, style, music, message, or competition.

We do ask that all of the participants are ages 16 & up. The idea is to showcase College Prep, College & Professional Work. We realize the opportunity for this age range of dancers to perform with out the pressure of life are few and far between.

A minimum group size of 4+ dancers is required. We ask that whether you create a piece, or submit a piece that is already completed, we are looking for GROUP work only. To be honest, we are not looking for a showcase of soloists. The more people we can include in this experience, the more applause we will hear from the audience!

This opportunity is open to young aspiring choreographers as well a established companies. If a choreographer is still in their pre-professional chapter, we will require a preview of the full piece before we can officially welcome them into the show.

What we need FROM you...
Minimum $500 in Sponsorships

As a supportive artistic community and to help cover the expenses for this opportunity, all parties involved are asked to raise a minimum amount of sponsorships for their work collectively. We don’t believe you should pay to share your art, but we do believe that there are businesses, family members, and other entrepreneurs who will happily support an opportunity for you to share your work.

We have all of the resources ready for you to accomplish this. The collective effort of all artists working together lessons the burden of the overall production funding. Within our community, we can also access and provide opportunities for blooming artists to continue their work and help support their artistic journey.

EXTRA
OPPORTUNITIES

As a team, we wanted to add to the FID experience. We have created external ways to support, inspire, and maybe enhance the artistic journey for some of our performers. We look forward to sharing the different companies represented in our audience. In addition, through our network of many talented friends in the industry, we have compiled a couple of fantastic opportunities for our fellow artists.

ALL EXTRA OPPORTUNITIES WILL BE SENT TO THE GUEST ARTIST UPON COMPLETING THEIR $500 SPONSORSHIP

Any dancers performing or submitting choreography are eligible to apply for ALL opportunities. There is no limit.  It is also possible that MORE opportunities will be added to the list. Final decisions for recipients will be decided using the organization's individual preference and submission process. Our show and production team has no influence on opportunity submissions or final selections.
